Wales offficially gets a new mountain

SNOWDONIA, Wales, Sept. 19 (UPI) --

Wales has a new mountain now that Snowdonia's Mynydd Graig Goch is officially 6 inches taller than thought, experts say.

It took more than 7,000 satellite readings for the Ordnance Survey to conclude Friday that Mynydd Graig Goch has been wrongly recorded as a hill for more than a century, The Manchester Guardian reported.

Reclassified as standing 6 inches more than 2,000 feet, the craggy outcrop between Porthmadog and the Lleyn peninsular has become Wales' 190th official mountain.
