Morning Coffee: Toledo looks to extend streak
Morning Coffee: Toledo looks to extend streak
Posted by ESPN.com's Graham Watson
Happy Thursday!
Today will mark the first day in about eight years that I will attend a football game as a patron. Colorado plays West Virginia tonight and I'll be hanging out, hoping to see a good game. If anyone's going and has a tailgate I can crash, let me know.
With that said, it's time for some Morning Coffee.
• Louisiana Tech knows the best course for success this season is getting the ball to running back Phillip Livas, according to the Monroe News Star. And that will be the game plan when the Bulldogs play Southeastern Louisiana.
• Toledo has never lost against a ranked opponent in the Glass Bowl and with No. 25 Fresno State rolling into town, the Rockets intend to keep that streak intact.
• UNLV is looking to start its first winning streak since 2004 with a win over Iowa State this week. During 2004, the Rebels beat Nevada and BYU in consecutive weeks.
• Army's new option could pose a problem for Akron this weekend, The Buchtelite says. The Zips are 1-3 against the Black Knights during the last four meetings.
• San Diego State coach Chuck Long thought about changing his offense to give the 0-3 Aztecs a chance at victory, but he's sticking with his quick-strike passing game.
• San Jose State is traveling to Stanford (again), and the Spartan Daily will tell you why.
• Southern Miss recognizes that the Marshall team the Golden Eagles are playing this weekend isn't the same team they played a year ago.
• Temple quarterback Adam DiMichele originally signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Penn State, and returns to the Penn State campus this week to play on the gridiron.
