Obama Lipstick On A Pig Comment Rankles Repubs
We're at the point in the Presidential election where every perceived slight will not go unpunished. More proof of that is the McCain campaigns reaction to a comment by Barack Obama. Obama was giving a speech in Virginia in which he was questioning the "change" rhetoric of the McCain/Palin ticket.

"We have spoken of change both when the polls showed us in the lead and when they showed us to be lagging behind. Now, on the other side, they have suddenly begun claiming that they too are for change," said Obama. "Give the matter a second's thought. These are the same people who have been in power for the past eight years. You can give a pig some lipstick, but a pig it will remain. You can wrap an old fish in a newspaper and call it change, but after eight years it will, in any case, continue to stink. We have had enough!"
Jane Swift, who has been appointed to lead Palin's new Palin Truth Squad was quick in her condemnation of the language.
"It's clear to me - as I'm sure it will be to fair-minded Republicans, Democrats and independents across the country - that Senator Obama owes Governor Palin an apology," she said.
The phrase is a common one, and has been used by many political figures, including John McCain.
